Welcome to 2010

January 1, 2010 1 comment

And so we reach the beginning of a new year.

It is now 2010, the first year of the second decade of the new millennium.

1810 an 1910 were both years which saw plenty of change. There were wars and revolutions in both, but only time will tell if any new nations will form or how much blood will be shed in the coming year.

We do know 2010 will hold the next Olympic Games and we can be sure it will be a year of continued change in America, for better or for worse.

Beginning another year filled with media of all sorts, I must wonder what I will be seeing in the next 12 months. How many new advertisements will feature dumb dads? How many films will feature male heroes who are comfortable with their masculinity? How many television shows will help teach young boys to believe in themselves? How many will continue to teach young girls to believe in themselves by degrading boys?

What new trends, good or bad, will we see?

Only time will tell, but I look forward to being here to see it.

Happy new year.
